Former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley took aim at Vice President Kamala Harris on Wednesday over her lack of doing anything after being appointed by Joe Biden to address the border crisis.
During an interview on Fox News, Haley slammed Harris and said “God help us if she ever becomes president.”
Host Sandra Smith began the discussion by reacting to video footage of migrant children being left to fend for themselves while attempting to cross the border. Border agents did rescue many of the children.
“Well, it’ll break anyone’s heart, and it’s not about coming up with a new solution, we have the solution,” Haley responded. “The Trump administration had the same migrant problem, but they fixed it. And what they did was they used tough love with our friends.”
Haley then detailed how Donald Trump made attempts to partner with other nations “to control the situation” in their countries, and those wishing to come to the U.S. would have to apply for asylum from there.
She added that Trump worked with Mexico to make sure there was “a handle on it,” but pointed out that Biden is trying to undo and erase as many of Trump’s immigration policies as he can.
“It’s really unacceptable that Biden is so obsessed with Trump reversals that he’ll literally put the American public, and these kids, at risk the way he is,” Haley continued.
“And then he gives Kamala Harris — apparently, she’s the one in charge. This is the same person who encouraged 7,000 migrants to come to America. She referred to ICE as the KKK. She’s now in charge of this. She’s been missing in action, and God help us if she ever becomes president, because if this is how she handles a crisis, I mean, I just can’t imagine how she would run our country,” she added.
Biden announced on March 24 that Harris would lead the administration’s efforts at the border, and she has not visited one time to even hold a press event on the crisis.
As noted by Conservative Brief’s Jon Dougherty:
Two weeks ago, Joe Biden placed his VP, Kamala Harris, in charge of the worsening migrant crisis along the U.S.-Mexico border, but she has yet to visit the border in any state to get a first-hand look at the situation.
That doesn’t mean that Harris hasn’t been burning up jet fuel.
She spent her Easter at home in Brentwood, southern California, “where she baked a ‘beautiful’ roast pork with rice and peas,” the Daily Mail reported, “but did not find time in her schedule to visit the nearby border.”
Over the past two weeks, Harris has also traveled to Connecticut to speak with the Boys and Girls Club of New Haven as well as Oakland, Calif., to meet with Gov. Gavin Newsom to support him as he faces a potential recall election. Harris has also traveled to a bakery in Chicago.
Harris has also been busy moving into her new residence at the Naval Observatory just days after she complained about living out of suitcases while it was being renovated.
On March 24, she was tasked with leading the efforts to tackle the ‘humanitarian crisis’ amid a surge of migrants trying to enter the US since Joe Biden’s administration came into office.
Days after Biden appointed Harris to oversee his administration’s border responses, Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey, a Republican, called her “the worst possible choice.”
He accused Harris of being someone who has “completely trivialized the issue by putting someone in charge who flat out just doesn’t care.”
Also, Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, predicted that Harris “is not going to be able to solve this crisis” after he and 17 other GOP senators visited the border in his home state, adding that the migrant crisis has become Biden’s “biggest political mess.”
