Texas Governor And Rubio Team Up Against MLB – To Make Them Pay, Abbott Refuses To Throw First Pitch

Once great American pastimes seem to have become “woke” in recent years. Even this year, MLB sided with the radical left to “punish” Georgia for passing laws to protect election integrity.

They bowed to pressure from  Joe Biden who claimed their new rules on early voting and handing out food and water at the polls was “Jim Crow 2.0,” and that it would be a good idea for the MLB to pull their All-Star Game from Atlanta.

And so they did—and they reportedly moved it to Colorado (which has stricter voter laws than GA).

From Fox News:

Major League Baseball announced that they are moving the 2021 All-Star Game out of Georgia in protest of the state’s new voting laws — and it now it is reportedly headed to Colorado, which has some rules that are similar, if not more restrictive…

“Georgia has 17 days of in-person early voting including two optional Sundays, Colorado has 15,” the Republican governor said. “So what I’m being told, they also have a photo ID requirement. So it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me.”

Republicans, outraged at this hypocrisy, are making waves by standing up to the MLB. The Texas governor is protesting by refusing to participate with his own team.

From IJR:

“I was looking forward to throwing out the first pitch at the Texas Rangers’ home opening game until [MLB] adopted what has turned out to be a false narrative about Georgia’s election law reforms,” Abbott tweeted on Monday…

[H]e will not be participating in any event held by the league and Texas would not seek to host any other special events or the All-Star Game.

And Florida’s Marco Rubio is calling out the league’s commissioner by name for his apparent hypocrisy. From IJR:

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) is asking Major League Baseball (MLB) commissioner Rob Manfred if he plans to maintain his membership at the Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia after the league moved the 2021 All-Star Game from the state to protest the new election law.

The battle lines are clearly drawn when it comes to the “woke wars.” Liberal-leaning organizations and companies are committed to forcing their agenda on conservative states and Americans.

If you don’t fall in line with their leftist agenda (in this case rejecting voter ID laws), then you may be “punished.”

We are seeing that from numerous liberal celebrities and companies who are virtue signaling to the left against Georgia’s right to protect the integrity of their elections.

The worst, of course, is how the MLB thinks that can interfere with a state’s ability to pass protect the polls by pulling their game from Atlanta.

Clearly, the left thinks they can manipulate Georgia, and any other state, with the threat of boycotts and loss of business.

But Republicans are closing ranks, fighting fire-with-fire, to let MLB know they will not tolerate such tactics.

Abbott and Rubio’s moves will most surely be only the beginning. From state leaders to lawmakers to regular fans, conservatives are poised to send a powerful message to “woke” companies and sports leagues:

Keep politics out of what you do, or we won’t support you.

Are you going to stand up to the woke MLB?
